eLIGIBLE FAMILIES
A "homeless" family is defined as a family without a habitable roof over their head for at least one night, without family or friends that will house them, and without the ongoing ability to pay for housing.
Eligible families must have previously lived in Pickens County for 90 days prior to becoming homeless and must have at least one child under the age of 18 years old. Adults must be drug free and pass a drug test and a background check.
Those with mental issues must be under a doctor's care. Adult members must have the ability to work within 30 days to provide a sufficient income to sustain their family lifestyle inclusive of permanent housing or they must be receiving sufficient disability income to do likewise. Children must be of school age, as child care will not be provided. Clients must have a working cell phone with voicemail capability so we can contact them at all times. Adult family members will sign an agreement with Cheryl's Place outlining what each party will do. Families not living up to their part of the agreement will be displaced from the program.
